The Outdoorsmen — Blood, Sweat, and Beer

Twenty years ago, give or take a year or two, a couple of teenagers from Everett , Wash. , went out in the woods and put together a group of raw, macho-type competitive contests. These involved throwing large rocks, drinking beer, running ridiculous races in water, drinking beer, tugs of war and drinking lots more beer. They chose to do this one weekend every year. Update to the present and you have four teams participating in highly organized, intense outdoor games. The constant use of beer as a point getter is beyond description. The young men who originally started this event are now in their mid thirties and going through life’s ups and downs. They are still inventing some of the most hysterical competitive situations you can imagine. This is one of the best documentaries you will see in a while. Beer will never be the same. — Donnie and Jeannie Hill
