THESAP HITS THE ROAD
February 1st, 2006
I’m off to do the Public Appearance/Pimp my movie thing. Hitting the Spokane Int’l Film Fest first, then off to Austin, TX to kickoff our official theatrical release with BSIDE at the Alamo Drafthouse. Then it’s back to sunny Los Angeles to continue the cause.
“What’s the cause?” you ask. To kick Hollywood in the nuts. That’s right. It’s all about WORD OF MOUTH. Hollywood has setup the theatrical experience terribly over the past decade and a half and it’s our job to prove them WRONG. Putting hundreds of millions of dollars into a film’s advertising so people see it on it’s opening weekend has made them focus on ADVERTISING and DEMOGRAPHICS so much they forgot how to make GOOD MOVIES. Well, I have a good movie and I am not spending hundreds of millions of dollars advertising it. It’s old school, word of mouth that will make this film a success. If you’ve seen the movie, you know how great the experience is. The burden I ask everyone who has seen the film to bear is simply to tell everyone they know about it. Spread the word, pass the torch, help me knock this one out of the park and Hollywood will not be able to ignore the truth. Make good movies and people will see them.
Thank you fellow film lovers. I’m off to inoculate myself for my numerous upcoming flights.
